Grow in your registry experience! We have an exciting opportunity to join our team with Regions Hospital as a Burn, Adult, and Pediatric Trauma Registrar. This position is a vital and integral part of the trauma team and collaborates closely with Trauma Center staff to maintain the efficient operations of hospital, state, and national trauma registry. This position is responsible for the clinical case management and care coordination of the trauma patient. Vital to this position is strong communication with the pre-hospital, primary, and referral providers and prompt identification relating to trauma performance improvement activities on a concurrent basis. Education and injury prevention are also key components of the role of the TNC. The Burn, Adult, and Pediatric Trauma Registrar will be responsible for:
Registrar with Nursing Experience:
Work schedule: On-Call/Casual, Day Shift Required Qualifications: Education: Completion of an approved two year or four-year Health Information Management or Nursing Program and eligibility for registration through the American Health Information Management Association. 2-3 years of experience with coding and/or abstraction will substitute for the two or four-year Health Information Management Program or Nursing Program Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Within the first 6 months of employment, it is required that the employee take the Trauma Registrar Course, ICD-10 Course Certificate dated within the past 5 years as well as the AAAM Injury Severity Scoring Course if not already completed. (tracked in department) Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Experience with data base management, burn or trauma registries, utilization review and/or performance improvement (PI) processes, and report writing preferred. Experience with human anatomy/physiology and injuries associated with trauma and burn preferred. Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator(RHIA), or Registered Nurse. |
