Key Responsibilities:
Event Floor Supervision: Lead and supervise the catering team during the setup, service, and breakdown of events. Ensure the team is well-organized and follows the event's BEO requirements, providing seamless service throughout the event.
Team Leadership: Manage, motivate, and direct catering staff (servers, bartenders, and other event personnel) on the floor to ensure efficient and high-quality service. Assign tasks, provide instructions, and maintain effective communication to ensure a smooth operation.
Client & Guest Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for guests and clients during the event. Address any issues or requests promptly and professionally to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Event Setup & Breakdown: Oversee the setup and breakdown of the event floor, ensuring that the layout, table arrangements, linens, and decor meet the event's specifications. Ensure the floor is clean, organized, and prepared before, during, and after the event.
Service Excellence: Ensure the team delivers exceptional service, including greeting guests, serving food and beverages, and attending to any special needs or requests. Monitor the floor to ensure the timely delivery of services and address any issues immediately.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all catering staff follows health, safety, and sanitation standards. Oversee the safe handling of food, beverages, and service equipment. Ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations and company policies.
BEO Fulfillment: Review the BEO to ensure all floor operations are aligned with the client's needs and event details, including guest count, seating arrangements, special requests, and timing. Confirm the team is prepared to fulfill all BEO specifications accurately.
Inventory Management: Monitor and manage the inventory of dining supplies (e.g., tableware, glassware, linens) and ensure that the team has everything needed for service. Report any shortages or equipment issues promptly to the catering manager.
Post-Event Cleaning: Supervise the post-event breakdown and cleanup of the floor area, ensuring all equipment, furniture, and supplies are returned to storage and the event space is left in a clean and orderly condition. |
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in catering or hospitality, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role, particularly in floor operations or event management.
Skills: Strong leadership and organizational abilities with the capacity to manage and direct a team effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, guests, and team members. Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail, ensuring that all event specifications are met with precision.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 30 lbs) and remain standing or walking for extended periods. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. A degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
Certifications: Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are a plus.
