Overview

The Contract Administration Bureau within the Agency of Transportation (AOT) is a fast-paced setting dedicated to innovation and continuous improvement in serving our internal and external customers. The incumbent will serve as a Contracts Specialist in the Construction Contracting Unit. The Specialist will primarily focus on processing ancillary agreements including utility, finance and maintenance, railroad flagging, temporary bridge, and interstate agreements. Additionally, the position may serve as a back-up for various duties within the Contract Administration Bureau.

The Construction Contracting Unit is responsible for prequalifying contractors to bid on construction projects and accurately and efficiently procuring and executing construction contracts and agreements for the Agency. Construction contracting types range from traditional Design, Bid, Build contracts to various alternative contract methods including: Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ); Job Order Contracts (JOC); Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC); Progressive Design Build (PDB); Design Build (DB); Contractor Input During Design (CIDD), and Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain (DBOM or DBOOM).

The ideal candidate should be able to learn quickly and multi-task, have a strong attention to detail, and work well both independently and within a team setting. This position requires the ability to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements.

This position has great growth potential and may be eligible for telework.

Environmental Factors

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree or certificate program in contract administration, public administration, accounting, business management, legal, or related field.

OR

High school or equivalent AND one (1) year or more of experience at a technical level in contract administration or a related field.
