Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Communications Manager to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL.

This position is responsible for managing and supporting communications activities for Airbus commercial aircraft operations in Mobile, Alabama.

Our Communications team members provide effective communications to support a variety of Airbus programs through strategic internal, external, social media and crisis communications. Our team is fluent in all areas of digital communications, media and public relations. We leverage available channels and tools, as well as creating new ones. We partner with business units throughout Airbus to position the company as a brand of choice for external customers and employees alike. Join the Communications team and help tell the Airbus story.

Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Audiovisual content: 40%

* Create compelling audiovisual content that effectively communicates and supports Airbus top company objectives. This includes conceptualizing, storyboarding, filming, editing and production of internal/external videos, facilitation of live streamed events and meetings, creation of graphics, signage, multimedia presentations and more.

* Edit and enhance audiovisual materials using industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud.

* Ensure all audiovisual content aligns with Airbus brand guidelines, maintaining cohesive visual identity across all communication platforms.

* Ensure the maintenance and organization of a web-based photo and video archive.

* Support an innovative digital media strategy for internal and external audiences.

2. Internal & External Communications: 40%

* Work with a variety of stakeholders to create engaging content for the internal workforce that supports top site objectives.

* Assist in developing and maintaining clear and consistent corporate messaging that aligns with the company's mission.

* Ensure all communications materials accurately reflect Airbus' brand identity and voice.

* Create and maintain communications content for intranet (known as "the Hub"), website and Airbus TV.

* Support local media relations efforts including news releases and announcements, media visits and events.

  • Support positive employee relations communications events and milestones by providing engaging stories, videos and photography that promote a safe, positive and productive working environment.

3. Project management: 15%

* Coordinate communications projects, campaigns and initiatives ensuring their successful execution within set timelines and budgets.

* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, provide guidance and ensure consistent messaging.

* Work closely with and oversee external agencies, media partners, videographers and photographers to achieve audiovisual objectives when required.

Additional Responsibilities: Assigned by the manager 5%

* Communications events support.

Your boarding pass:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field required.

  • Required: Six years of experience in a communications-related field.

  • Travel Required: 5% Domestic and International.

  • Required: Strong project management abilities; Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and grammar; Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while executing tactically; knowledge of current trends and best practices in communications.

  • Required: Strong interpersonal communication skills; Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

  • Required: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Google Workspace.

  • Required: Level of Decision Making: Tactical decision making required as part of day-to-day operations.

  • Nature of Contacts: Primary internal audience includes all employees supporting commercial aircraft operations in the U.S.

  • Position will liaise with site leadership.

Physical Requirements:

* Onsite or remote: 80% on site at Airbus' U.S. Manufacturing Facility.

* Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Frequency: Daily.

* Hearing: Able to hear and to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Frequency: Daily.

* Speaking: Able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Frequency: Daily.

* Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors) Frequency: Daily.

* Carrying: Able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.Frequency: Several times a month.

* Lifting: Able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. Frequency: At least once per month.

* Pushing / Pulling: Able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Frequency: Once per month.

* Sitting: Able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Frequency: Daily.

* Squatting / Kneeling: Able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Frequency: Weekly.

* Standing: Able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.Frequency: Weekly.

* Travel: Able to travel independently and at short notice. Frequency: Approximately twice a year.

* Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): Able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Frequency: Daily.

* Administrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
