The Manufacturing Manager - Bowl Department is responsible for overseeing production operations within the bowl manufacturing department at Zurn Elkay's Lumberton, NC facility. This role ensures efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Manufacturing Manager will lead a team, manage resources, optimize workflows, and collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to meet production goals.

As a Manufacturing Manager, you will play a key role in driving efficiency and excellence in our Lumberton, NC facility, while working with a team dedicated to delivering top-tier water solutions.

Key Accountabilities Production & Operations Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing operations in the Bowl Department, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Manage production schedules, labor allocation, and workflow optimization to meet demand and cost targets.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

Continuous Improvement & Engineering Support:
  • Partner with the Manufacturing Engineer to update and maintain production routings, CAD drawings, and work instructions.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, waste reduction, and cost savings using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.

  • Lead or support kaizen events, 5S initiatives, and other continuous improvement projects.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop production team members, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

  • Provide training on best practices, safety protocols, and process improvements.

  • Monitor performance metrics and provide coaching to improve productivity and efficiency.

Project Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions.

  • Manage department-related projects, including process upgrades, equipment installations, and capacity expansions.

  • Assist in capital expenditure planning and provide recommendations for new technology or process enhancements.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing management, preferably in metal fabrication or sink manufacturing.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including metal forming, welding, and finishing.

  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for reviewing and updating drawings.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
