General Summary of Position MedStar Health is looking for a Physicist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital! The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively and productively in a team environment. Advanced computer programming skills using C++, MATLAB, Excel, or other programming languages. Experience with Monte Carlo modeling. The Jr. Medical Physicist is an entry-level position for a radiation oncology physicist, who has completed a minimum of two years post-degree training in medical physics after completion of a Ph.D. or MS. in Medical Physics or related science in physics or engineering. This position is under the supervision of one or more board certified medical physicists. The person in this position will receive clinical training and provide supervised clinical physics and dosimetry services related to radiation oncology patient treatment. The physicist as a clinical team member supports the Department Chair and the Radiation Physics Division Chief in support of the departmental clinical and academic missions. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy, policies, procedures, and standards.
