Summary

The Engineering Intern will get firsthand exposure of automation and racking solution projects, from concept to aftermarket care. In this position, you will learn how to translate a customer's need into a custom solution through process mapping, data analysis, product selection, and sizing. You will get exposure to projects that are in the implementation phase, understanding the support, logistics, and testing that comes with physical and software installation. Lastly, you will learn how to support a project following go-live to ensure continued success.

In this position, you will learn how to take skills you have acquired in school that are related to your areas of interest and apply them in a professional setting. You will have opportunities to not only learn from young professionals, but also interact and present to management. Interns will get to network with Sales, Product Management, Project Management, Operations, and Systems Technology.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create CAD drawings to help customers visualize rack solutions
  • Participate in the creation of simulations for moving applications (AMR, AGV)
  • Complete analysis on customer's warehouse order data and present conclusions
  • Visit a site implementation
  • Aid in the set up of the Innovation Center for tours
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Candidates must demonstrate an interest and ability to enter the Systems Integrator field and be pursuing either an undergrad degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Candidates will be evaluated on:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
    • Working knowledge of AutoCad
    • Working knowledge of SolidWorks
    • Working knowledge of data analytics tools
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must be based in Charlotte, NC
  • Visiting/working at our various sites is an essential function of the job and may require travel up to 30% of the time.
