Litigation Support Technologist

***As required by our governmental client, this position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered. ***

CFS is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Support Technologist to provide comprehensive legal support assistance services to our Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) and support staff. As a Litigation Support Technologist, you will play a vital role in handling complex civil fraud cases by managing electronic documents, data, and digital imaging applications. Your responsibilities will include utilizing various software tools such as eScanIt, LTSC, eCapture, Trial Director, Relativity, Eclipse, CaseMap/TimeMap, and Acumen to streamline electronic discovery processes and facilitate seamless trial presentations.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Litigation Support Technologist: $33 - $38/hour

Pay commensurate with experience.

Litigation Support Technologist Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides a variety of direct legal support assistance services to services AUSA and support staff. Typical assignments include:
  • Assist attorneys with investigations of electronic data/material as it pertains to healthcare data, healthcare fraud and drug diversion matters
  • Utilizes eScanIt for scanning both Eclipse and Relativity databases on civil (and parallel proceeding) fraud cases as appropriate (primarily Eclipse)
  • Utilizes and works with LTSC for eDiscovery processing for Relativity cases. Utilizes eCapture processing ESI for civil fraud cases as appropriate.
  • Utilizes Trial Director for trial presentation on civil fraud cases as appropriate.
  • Utilizes relativity and eclipse to provide material for legal filings and power-point presentations.
  • For each production that the office receives, ensures that the production is properly logged on a discovery log, uploaded into the appropriate database with the appropriate tagging or foldering, and tests to ensure that the production is properly OCR'd.
  • Utilizes CaseMap/TimeMap on civil fraud cases as appropriate. Creates and updates CaseMap/TimeMap for each significant affirmative case.
  • Coordinates with USAO IT and ALS personnel regarding modifications of standard systems, to resolve hardware and software problems, and to adapt precedents to make significant departures from standardized approaches to meet user requirements. Cases handled are complex and require in-depth electronic document management to help identify patterns of fraud by ordaining, tracking, and analyzing hundreds of thousands or millions of items of evidence., millions of data elements, and may involve untried or especially novel computer or digital imaging applications.
  • Runs searches and develops review plans for database materials.
  • Consults with and advises case teams on best practices for the preparation of electronic documents; assists attorneys with production of electronic data/material both to and from external parties; trains attorneys, paralegals, and other personnel on data applications; assists in the organization and search of investigative documents and data, coordinates the conversion with attorneys for production to external parties; acts as an eDiscovery specialist in the early stages of cases.
  • Work with agencies to obtain and process government data, documents, and ESI.
  • Works with Acumen data and other healthcare data to identify trends or potential investigative subjects for healthcare fraud or drug diversion matters.
  • Coordinates production of data to opposing parties, experts, agencies, other DOJ components and other third parties as required.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and summarizes case data.
  • Coordinates with states, federal agencies, and contractors to obtain pertinent data.
  • Communication skills are extremely important. Works and interacts professionally and effectively with all levels of staff. Has the ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office in which large and significant cases require close team collaborate. Has skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Litigation Support Technologist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
