Position Summary: The ACH Representative will process and reconcile data involving electronic funds transfers. This position will act as the primary resource to ensure compliance with data center changes, EFTA, NACHA, Federal Reserve Bank Circular and other applicable rules. This position will also be asked to assist with other functions across the broader Electronic Banking department as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Adheres to daily system processing schedules to ensure that ACH transactions are processed, posted and returned within proscribed time frames.
  • Reviews the EF- Prenote report daily for death notifications and takes appropriate action.
  • Responds to prenotes within required time frames.
  • Processes Notices of Reclamation received from agencies within required time frames. Maintains reclamation records and prepares unrecoverable items for collection.
  • Places ACH stop payments. Monitors forms for signatures and takes appropriate action.
  • Sets up allotments and inputs quick starts on the next business day.
  • Verifies Fed End of Day Settlement. Research discrepancies. Assist in balancing the ACH in-process general ledger account and helps resolve outstanding ACH items in the Fed general ledger account.
  • Performs third party file processing and approvals as required. Third party file approvals may require extended hours.
  • Performs Cash Management daily ACH file processing and approvals as required.
  • Responds to inquiries from banking centers and other internal departments as needed, following prescribed customer service standards.
  • Reviews and updates procedures, as necessary.
  • Completes all yearly compliance training and testing and complies with bank, federal, and state regulations.
  • Complies with Bank Policies and Procedures. Adheres to departmental and bank-wide CARE standards.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma and two to three years of related experience; or training or a combination of education and training.

Skills needed:

  • Strong Mathematics skills including:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percentages and draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of banking and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Certifications, Licenses and/or registrations:

  • ACH Certification (AAP) preferred or willingness to pursue ACH Certification with applicable course work.
  • Associate must be willing to obtain AAP certification within a timeframe of 3 years of becoming an EFT Associate or within a timeframe designated by management not to be shorter than 3 years.

Computer Skills:

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access)
  • Strong Excel skills required
