Job Description: Seeking Charge Nurse! Baptist Health Floyd, Emergency Department Full-Time, Nights Job Duties: About the Unit: The Emergency Department (ED) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms. A split-flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients. Split flow varies from 5-8 patients and is run by 1-2 nurses and a mid-level provider. This fast-paced ED treats an average of 160+ patients per day. ED staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries and psychiatric patients. The ED is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center. Qualifications: Current Indiana or compact state RN license. Associate or Bachelors Degree in Nursing. BLS for Healthcare Provider required. ACLS required within 12 months of hire. PALS required within 12 months of hire. NIH Stroke Scale Certification required, within 10 weeks of hire. One year of nursing experience required. One year of nursing experience in area of specialty preferred. Responsible for attending charge nurse professional development opportunities provided. Maintain port competency, per policy, to include accessing and de-accessing.
