The Agents team within Research works in research areas combining language models, reinforcement learning, and agents.

About the Role

We're looking for Research Engineers / Scientists eager to advance the frontier of agent research. This role involves a full process from fundamental research to launching the research work as an agent product.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

  • Own and pursue a research agenda to identify the weakness of the model and improve it

  • Build robust evaluations for tracking modeling improvements.

  • Design, implement, test, and debug code across our research stack.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Believe that having a solid evaluation is crucial for research projects to succeed

  • Are excited about shipping the research work as a product

  • Don't have biased opinions on what methodology should be used to solve a particular problem

  • Are happy to learn whatever is needed and have unique way of learning quickly

  • Are a first-principles thinker

  • Are comfortable diving into a large ML codebase to debug.
