Are you looking for an opportunity where you play an integral part in delivering GSK's corporate government affairs agenda in the US Hub? If so, this Manager, Corporate Government Affairs opening could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

GSK is looking for a Manager, Corporate Government Affairs where you will support the Director for US Corporate Government Affairs to monitor external developments impacting GSK, build key stakeholder relationships and tell GSK's story effectively to external audiences. The role will be based in Global Corporate Government Affairs & Policy (GCGAP), part of our Corporate Affairs group, and will work closely alongside the US Government Affairs, Policy, and Patient Advocacy (GAPPA) team. It will involve working proactively with colleagues across the business and with external agencies, problem solving and driving delivery on government engagement and a variety of projects, with the aim of improving GSK's operational environment so that we can effectively research, develop and manufacture innovative medicines and vaccines that make a difference to people's lives.

You will be driven, a quick learner and intellectually curious, with a passion for making a difference and enjoy the challenge of working to a high standard on multiple projects and deliverables. You will be agile, responsive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

Supporting US corporate government affairs engagement, external insights:

  • Closely monitor the external environment in the US tracking GSK's corporate policy priority issues, including trade, tax, intellectual property, global health and prevention.
  • Support synthesis and dissemination of policy and political updates relevant to teams across the business.
  • Support presentation, brief and reactive communication development across relevant issues.
  • Attend external events and meetings, including those held by our trade associations, think tanks, and agencies, to gain relevant insights.

Drafting advocacy and other materials and meeting planning:

  • Organize and plan meetings with internal and external partners.
  • Draft external materials to support our advocacy on GSK priorities, such as meeting briefings, policy proposals.
  • Draft materials to support the team in sharing key updates with internal stakeholders, such as issue updates and geopolitical briefings.
  • Desk research in support of the team's policy and advocacy work, and to help brief senior leaders.
Why you? Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 3+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry OR biotechnology industry or government sector

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience with MS Office Suite

  • Experience in government or public affairs

  • A self-starter who is willing to take on responsibility and is results driven

  • Intellectually curious, quick learner

  • Able to work on multiple priorities, agile and responsive

  • Strong written and verbal communicator

  • Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple internal stakeholders

  • Understanding and experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Positive and proactive team player, plays active role in team culture and development

The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $75,000 to $125,000 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate's skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role. Available benefits include health care and other insurance benefits (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
