About this opportunity
Supply Chain Coordinator will plan, direct and coordinate planning and scheduling of operations in Extrusion and Slitting. Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies, managing daily operations, and long-term planning the use of systems, materials and personnel to accomplish the tactical and strategic objectives of Extrusion and Slitting.
What you will do
- Facilitates a culture of safety, health, and environmental awareness.
- Supports all activities in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality and food safety management system
- Report any quality and/or food safety problems to personnel of authority to initiate action.
- Responsible for all Extrusion and Slitting planning and scheduling functions to include obtaining raw materials, packaging and shipping suppliers, scheduling orders to be manufactured and shipped in time to meet customer requirements.
- Work closely with customer service manager and customer service representatives to ensure customer needs are being met.
- Participate in weekly conference calls with sales and customers as required.
- Partner with Business Develop and TC Sites to understand forecasted annual / monthly forecasted demand by end customer and structure.
- Develop min / max inventory levels for each resin grade to meet forecasted demand.
- Responsible for understanding customer have ready dates and scheduling Extrusion and Slitting to meet customer demand.
- Take a lead role in Microsoft Dynamics AX improvement efforts as it pertains to the Operations side of the ERP System.
- Work with Production Manager and TC engineers to utilize and integrate Brueckner ONE to support TC processes.
- Take a lead role in coordinating and negotiating price for TC's external recycling and scrap management of extruded material.
- Partner with Operations, Finance and Quality to ensure all process paperwork is developed, completely accurately and supports data entered in AX System.
- Plan production activities and establish production priorities with Lead Operators and Supervisors.
- Communicate scheduling and production issues with the appropriate department heads.
- Communicate scheduling and production issues with appropriate customer service representative.
- Participate as an active member of the plant safety steering committee.
- Review daily, weekly and monthly production performance.
- Coordinate orders to be sent to sister plants as needed.
- Facilitate daily production meetings with Extrusion department representatives.
- Use systems to help establish production schedules.
- Working with the customer service manager set and distribute a monthly shipping forecast based on projected shipments and historical trends.
- Monitor production backlogs.
- Work with the production manager to establish weekend work schedules.
- Review and approve raw material purchase orders.
- Participate in inventory actions as needed.
- Meet all expectations related to performance management.
- Oversee, manage and conduct cycle counts, month end inventory, and year end inventory.
- Item builds for production runs in AX.
- Responsible for mass balancing work orders in both Extrusion and Slitting.
- Responsible for timely close out and confirmation of all production orders.
What you have to offer
- High School, prefer BS in Supply Chain Management or related field or equivalent job specific work experience.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, plastics, preferably film production.
- Knowledge of planning and scheduling concepts and applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus.
- Knows the formal and informal plant goals, standards, policies and procedures which may include some familiarity of other plants and corporate guidelines.
- Sensitive to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the facility
- Advanced level of experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of and experience with manufacturing principals.
