Summary: Barr is seeking a structural engineer to join our team and work with multidisciplinary project teams providing structural engineering and related technical expertise. Project assignments may include design and analysis of structural systems, project management, preparation of plans and specifications, report writing, cost estimating, and construction observation. Clients will primarily consist of mining, manufacturing, power, refinery, and other industrial companies. The work may require short-term, out-of-town work assignments. This individual will also have an opportunity to play a role in day-to-day client service and business development as a key part of building a structural engineering team in the established Salt Lake City, Utah, office. Business development activities may include building and maintaining client relationships, tracking marketing leads and project opportunities, developing proposals and presentations, and networking and working to inform clients of the full range of capabilities offered by the firm. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is/can be based out of Barr's Salt Lake City, Utah; Reno, Nevada; or Denver, Fort Collins, or Wheat Ridge, Colorado, offices. Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000/year. Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus. Our compensation comes in more ways than traditional base salary, and we believe that when all those elements are combined, our compensation is a competitive part of the total value proposition of working at Barr. NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required. Safety training will be provided.
