Summary
The Nurse Practitioner provides care to patients under the direct supervision of a board eligible or board-certified physician. The services provided falls within the scope of overall practice by the Nurse Practitioner including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of individuals with medical and psychiat+M151ric disorders.

Essential Functions
-Provides clinical services including evaluation, diagnosis and treatment to patients

-Documents each clinical visit in the medical record on the day of service. Contributes to treatment plans and discharge summaries.

-Participates in team rounds and other clinical meetings, and helps coordinate all treatment and discharge planning

-Oversees appropriate medical care & prescribes medications as noted in the "McLean Hospital Guidelines for Practice Document"

-Meets with families for clinical discussions as needed

-Communicates with referring sources, primary care physicians, and other community providers

-Attends program and hospital administrative meetings as required

-Complies with all hospital clinical and administrative policies

-Participates in utilization management, risk management, and quality assurance activities

-Provides supervision of medical trainees, nursing trainees, and others as appropriate

-Facilitates integration of medical services with other clinical program services

-Will attend supervision by supervising psychiatrist/MD

Education
Master's Degree Nursing required

Licenses and Credentials
Nurse Practitioner [NP] / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [State License] - Generic - HR Only required

Experience
One year nurse practitioner experience treating adolescents and/or psychiatric patients preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
