CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

US & Canadian Payroll



  • Ensure US and Canadian payroll files are correctly loaded in the general ledger.
  • Assist with monthly payroll reporting.
  • Troubleshoot errors and suspense items with the assistance of Systems Accounting Supervisor.
  • Review and respond to ad hoc questions from various business units.


Utility Processing and System Administration



  • Ensuring Utility and Telecom files are correctly loaded in general ledger.
  • Loading accrual entries and accrual analysis for US and Canada


Assist with the month-end close process



  • Record monthly journal entries
  • Review suspense accounts and investigate balances
  • Perform close tasks related to payroll, utilities and telecom
  • Assist with other close activities as needed to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports
  • Review and respond to ad hoc questions from various business unit.


Special Projects



  • Participate in key company initiatives.


Monthly reconciliations



  • Prepare various reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items
  • Improve the efficiency and quality of documentation through automating tasks, developing meaningful analytics, etc

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • Minimum 1 year of accounting/financial experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Ability to think outside the box and challenge existing thought processes.
  • Ability to multitask and change focus quickly where business needs occur.


Preferred:



  • Oracle EBS experience
  • MS Office experience

TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
