Job Summary

Provide a comprehensive and culturally sensitive set of support services designed to ensure the academic success of students as measured by high retention and graduation rates. Provide academic coaching for an identified case load of students and track student success in an effort to increase retention and completion rates. Primary responsibility will be four-year ABET-accredited programs available at OSU-Tulsa that support careers in aerospace and air mobility; however, this position may also provide support to other College Park programs. Implement outreach strategies to increase student population in engineering pathway at College Park, measured by student enrollment.


Essential Duties

Outreach - Assist the Engineering Program Manager in implementation of a marketing and recruitment plan that includes outreach to current and prospective students, area high school counselors, regional industries, Workforce Development offices, industry organizations, and workforce employees, including, but not limited to, call campaigns, mass email campaigns, dissemination of marketing materials, etc. Priority as determined by Engineering Program Manager.

Retention - Plan and implement student programming and high impact practices that work to increase the retention of underrepresented student populations.

Outreach - Assist with the coordination and conduction of information sharing sessions at area high schools, career fairs, College events, and industry facilities. Develop ongoing marketing contacts with student assistance programs.

Retention - Work in collaboration with other TCC Staff (Academic Advisement, Financial Aid, Faculty Advisors) to promote individual success.

Outreach - Presence at New Student Orientation and other TCC outreach events to represent College Park programs, specifically engineering.

Retention - Provide academic coaching to a caseload of students with the goal of knowing the status of each student at the end of each semester.

Retention - Assist TCC advisor to provide culturally sensitive academic support services to an identified case load of students; assist students with educational and career planning.

Outreach - Assist students with enrollment into the College Park program.

Retention - Communicate with case load students at designated times each semester, with a focus on student success, retention and completion.

Retention - Refer students to personal support services either within the college or in the community.

Retention - Track student academic progress within the designated case load/student population.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree applied Behavioral Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Human Relations, or Education.

1 year Experience providing outreach and retention services to community college students.


Preferred Qualifications

Outlook and Microsoft Office experience.
