GENERAL SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP - Budget and Analytics, the Director Finance, System Support Services (SSS) oversees an annual operating budget of approximately $1.3B. Provides financial leadership and oversight for all System departments, including developing annual budgets and monitoring functional department annual costs compared to relevant national benchmarks. Directs and oversees financial related activities including, but not limited to, financial reporting and analysis, forecasting, and actual versus budget expense variance management. In conjunction with senior leadership, supports and develops business plans of corporate departments as needed. Ensures achievement of SSS financial objectives, including alignment with HFH system operational and strategic goals and expectations. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of Henry Ford Health in leadership behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Provides financial reports and data to enable operations to monitor and improve SSS performance.
- Directs the annual budget process for SSS operations as well as short- and long-range financial planning (LRFP).
- Creates/Maintains Corporate Allocation process and methodologies to ensure proper cost allocation to system operating units.
- Provides financial leadership and operational support relative to the implementation of business opportunities, challenges, and risks, including financial analysis, critical review of programs and services and relevant capital expenditures.
- Works closely with relevant Senior HR leaders on annual wage and market equity programs.
- Provides finance and operational support in the development, implementation, and monitoring of assigned projects related to SSS.
- Collaborates and partners with SSS division leaders on business plans to help achieve financial performance goals.
- Meetings with stakeholders regarding variance reporting and resulting action plans.
- Develops business plans to determine financial viability and to ensure that financial resources are optimized, and short and long-term goals are achieved.
- Oversees expense management reporting to help monitor expenses against forecast while working with operational leaders to help identify expense savings opportunities.
- Monitors financial systems to ensure data integrity and proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes and increase value of financial activities.
- Accountable for all aspects of financial performance within area(s) of responsibility.
- May lead multidisciplinary teams and committees pertaining to SSS initiatives. Leads, manages and completes special projects and serves on various committees as assigned.
- Promotes a culture of high reliability to ensure that internal and external customer needs are recognized and addressed.
- Understands and promotes continuous quality improvement through process redesign and re-engineering, leading key teams, as appropriate, to enhance the quality and delivery of service. Models behaviors that support continuous learning and empowerment through team leadership.
- Coaches and mentors through formal and informal relationships to develop personnel to build a pool of talented future finance leaders.
- Provides support to SSS senior management by coordinating special assignments as directed. With support from Direct staff personnel, assists leadership with answering any financial questions and educating them as to the use of the various financial reports that they receive.

- Supports a highly matrix approach in the development of services and displays the ability to work effectively within the health system's decision-making and organizational structure.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, the Corporate Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Approximately 7 years progressively more responsible work-related experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of Healthcare experience required.
- Management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience working in a large Health System preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business required.
- MBA, CPA, or equivalent preferred.
