Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and project support to members of Alnylam's Executive Leadership Team. This position will report to the VP, Chief of Staff to the CEO, and work closely with the Senior Executive Assistant to the CEO and other key stakeholders.

This individual will act as a trusted liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and Board of Directors contacts, while also supporting key projects that enable the Executive Team.

Success in this role requires exceptional organizational skills, a proactive mindset, strong Microsoft Office capabilities, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This position is hybrid and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

Executive & Administrative Support

  • Provide executive administrative support to the Chief of Staff to the CEO, including calendar management, travel coordination, expense reporting, and meeting logistics
  • Serve as backup to the Senior Executive Assistant to the CEO and provide support to other Executive Team members as needed
  • Manage complex and dynamic calendars, proactively resolving conflicts and protecting executive time
  • Arrange domestic and international travel, ensuring seamless itineraries and logistical execution
  • Act as a liaison and point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of executives

Meeting & Event Coordination

  • Provide logistical and planning support for Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Directors (BOD) meetings, including agendas, materials, presentations, pre-reads, minutes, and action tracking
  • Support coordination of workshops, consultant/vendor meetings, and special events
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining ELT and BOD presentation decks and supporting documents

Information & Project Management

  • Maintain and organize shared folders and collaboration sites (e.g., Box) for ELT and BOD materials
  • Track action items, decisions, and deliverables using Excel trackers, dashboards, and calendars
  • Manage internal communication processes including drafting executive reminders, tracking deadlines, and ensuring alignment with administrative peers
  • Support special projects including preparation of offsite materials, post-readouts, and debriefs
  • Manage new vendor setup and contract workflows, including CDA, MSA, and SOW execution
  • Process consultant/vendor POs and invoices; track expenses and budget alignment

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a key member of the Executive Administrative Team, participating in team initiatives and providing cross-coverage as needed
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all interactions
  • Continually seek ways to improve administrative processes and team effectiveness
  • Appropriately manage information of a highly confidential and critical nature

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of executive administrative experience, ideally in a global life sciences or biotech environment
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail and formatting
  • Experience supporting C-suite or senior-level executives strongly preferred
