The Building Service Worker performs services that ensure the proper physical set-up of the Student Centers facilities for routine use, special functions, ongoing building upkeep, maintenance and cleaning of related facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Cleans, disinfects, sanitizes and service all restroom facilities. Thoroughly clean sinks, toilets, counters, restroom stalls, shower stalls, mirrors and urinals, soap and other dispensers in addition to cleaning floors. Replenish supplies as needed and empty trash, includes sanitary boxes.
  • Collect and dispose of all types of refuse and recyclable material removed from all areas of the building and conference rooms in containers for removal; Replace liners for respective containers.
  • Operate pressure washers, shampooers, floor buffing machines and other similar cleaning equipment in _x000d_ order to renew floor surface. _x000d_ _x000d_ Vacuum and shampoo lounges and other carpeted floors. _x000d_ _x000d_ Strip and seal floors and public walkways made of vinyl tile, paver brick and concrete surfaces._x000d_
  • Moves furniture, supplies, miscellaneous equipment, and sets up meeting space as directed.
  • Keeps floors free of dirt and debris by dust and wet-mopping corridors, meeting rooms and offices. Includes vacuuming in all areas.
  • Spot clean windows, mirrors, glass, door glass and walls in all areas of the building. Includes framed pictures, signage, doors and door handles
  • Removal of snow from the entrance walkways and steps of Student Centers and satellite buildings as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
