EnviroScience is currently seeking a full-time GIS Lead Analyst for our Natural Resources Practice Area.
The GIS Lead will play a critical role in leading the GIS team, managing geospatial data, providing mapping and spatial analysis support to environmental science projects, and developing innovative solutions to meet project requirements. The role requires both technical expertise in GIS and leadership abilities to guide a team and collaborate across departments. This individual will work closely with environmental scientists, ecologists, and project managers to provide actionable geospatial insights that support the company's mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
GIS Operations
* Assist with the day-to-day operations of the GIS team, ensuring project timelines are met and quality standards are maintained.
* Serve as a point of contact for GIS-related inquiries and coordinate between departments.
Geospatial Data Management
* Oversee the collection, processing, and management of geospatial datasets, including environmental, ecological, and topographical data.
* Maintain and update geodatabases to ensure accurate and reliable data for environmental analysis.
GIS Analysis and Mapping
* Develop high-quality maps and spatial analyses to support environmental assessments, impact studies, and natural resource management.
* Perform advanced spatial analysis to extract meaningful insights from geospatial data.
Collaboration with Project Teams
* Work with multidisciplinary teams including environmental scientists, engineers, and project managers to integrate GIS into project workflows.
* Attend project meetings to ensure that GIS deliverables align with client and project objectives.
Innovation and System Development
* Design and implement new GIS applications and tools to streamline workflows and improve data visualization.
* Stay updated on GIS technologies and integrate new tools to enhance service offerings.
Training and Mentorship
* Provide training and technical support to internal staff and clients on GIS software and applications.
* Mentor junior GIS staff, providing guidance on best practices and career development.
Work Environment
This candidate will need to collaborate effectively with leadership and maintain that communication back down to the people they supervise. Additionally, this candidate needs to be able to complete project work independently, with minimal supervision.
This position is primarily an office-based role, meaning employees will be work from the Stow, Ohio or Regional office unless prior arrangements have been made with your direct supervisor to work from home.
