PURPOSE OF THE ROLE As a Commissioning Mechanical Technician Foreperson at Worley, you will be a key contributor in guiding teams through the safe and effective commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment, helping bring projects to life across the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors. This role plays an integral part in our transition to more sustainable operations while ensuring the reliable delivery of the energy and infrastructure society relies on today. You will lead by example-managing crews in the execution of system testing, troubleshooting mechanical equipment, and verifying compliance with engineering specifications. With a focus on high performance, safety, and operational excellence, you will help realize Worley's ambition to be recognized globally as a leader in sustainable transformation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and coordinate mechanical commissioning technicians in executing commissioning and pre-commissioning activities across a range of mechanical systems.
- Oversee the safe energization and testing of rotating, static, and fired equipment, ensuring testing procedures are followed and results are clearly documented in digital systems.
- Foster a culture of safety, taking accountability for health, safety, and environmental performance across the commissioning team.
- Review and validate test results, generate comprehensive reports, and confirm adherence to technical standards and project specifications.
- Plan daily activities, assign responsibilities, and manage work progress against available resources, engineering deliverables, and project timelines.
- Support the SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) process by coordinating with vendors and ensuring readiness of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Identify installation deviations from engineering documentation and escalate appropriately for resolution.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, general arrangement layouts, and piping schematics to support commissioning work.
- Promote collaboration across disciplines, including electrical, instrumentation, and process commissioning teams, to ensure aligned execution of system testing.
- Ensure compliance with LOTO, permitting, and site safety procedures, actively participating in safety audits and documentation processes.
- Provide mentorship, direction, and performance feedback to assigned commissioning staff, motivating a results-oriented and safety-first approach.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLSET
- A mechanical background with experience in sectors such as power generation, petrochemicals, or oil & gas.
- Minimum of five years of commissioning experience, with at least three years in a lead or foreperson role within mechanical commissioning.
- Recognized credentials such as a diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a Millwright Journeyperson Certificate are essential.
- Demonstrated experience in commissioning rotating equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, motors), static equipment (e.g., vessels, exchangers, heaters), and first-time system operations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire performance and maintain focus on safety and quality.
- Familiarity with function testing procedures, commissioning documentation standards, and digital completions systems.
- Proficient in interpreting mechanical, electrical, and general arrangement drawings, as well as understanding cross-disciplinary commissioning interfaces.
- Effective troubleshooting abilities, analytical thinking, and a solutions-focused mindset.
- Computer literacy with experience in commissioning software, report generation, and data entry into completions databases.
- In-depth understanding of mechanical commissioning regulations, permit-to-work systems, and LOTO practices.
- NCCER Certified Plus (preferred).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This role requires the ability to perform physical activities that include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, and performing repetitive motions.
