Pay Range DOE: $15.00 - $17.00/hour

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. 40 hours per week. This is a temp-to-hire with the eligibility of full-time permanent placement.

This position is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan - must be 18 years of age to participate.

JOB SUMMARY:

Goodwill Staffing is recruiting for our nonprofit partner that needs someone who has a heart for serving those in need by prepping ready-made meals and delivering them. The candidate will need to have a clean driving record and heart for this mission. The candidate will be offering nutritious meals, social engagement, and support services to eligible older adults. The position does include some administrative support and assistance with daily food operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The majority of the work takes place at the cafe site, with the remainder done in the kitchen or office.




  • Oversees daily cold production operations, including labeling, packing, organizing delivery routes, and monitoring food safety.


  • Accurately portions and securely packs meals per dietary guidelines.
  • Creates and applies proper labels, noting dietary needs and delivery info.
  • Oversees and records congregate reservations and daily meal counts.
  • Orders meals by the cutoff time, balancing demand and minimizing waste.
  • Submits required monthly paperwork, including food rosters.
  • Maintains sanitation of all food service areas and equipment.
  • Monitors and logs food temperatures to meet safety standards.
  • Follows department policies and procedures.
  • Trains and supports volunteers in food service roles.
  • Promotes a welcoming environment and models respectful behavior.
  • Reports safety issues, member concerns, or incidents to management.
  • Ensures fair, civil rights-compliant treatment of all diners.
  • Travels to various congregate sites to support operations and provide coverage during staff absences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Regularly interacts, engages, and provides guidance to volunteers.
  • Support volunteers and interns to coordinate and coach appropriate food safety standards.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.



Experience:



  • Two (2) or more years' experience in food service industry.
  • Knowledge of large quantity meal preparation and menu planning ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.



Other:



  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in food handling, sanitation regulations, and commercial kitchen or warehouse settings.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
  • Demonstrates strong comprehension of instructions and the ability to guide others.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client, staff, and business information.
  • Exercises sound professional judgment and ethical conduct.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) desirable, but not required.
  • TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY: This position uses Microsoft Office, label printers, cleaning and sanitation tools, online training programs, messaging apps, time clocks, and kitchen or cash register systems.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to train small groups of volunteers.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for handling orders, calculating totals, and providing change to customers and able to keep track of stock levels to determine how much product is needed based on demand or order history.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to problem solve involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must pass:

    • Background check*
    • Drug test*
    • CAPS check*
    • Clear MVR*




  • Complete the ServSafe certification (within 90 days of hire).
  • Clean driving record*
  • A valid Colorado driver's license without a history of violations is required*.
