Technical Specialist IIin GAC Savannah Unique Skills: DUTIES: Work with the development, certification, and support of new avionics products along the lifecycle. Guide successful completion of major engineering programs related to avionics. Conceive research in areas of considerable scope and complexity supporting the development and production of company products and services. Select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues. Be consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field. Anticipate and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways, developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Approach problem solving by balancing technical product, cost, and schedule. Work without appreciable direction, having work reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results. Exercise latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments. Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company product. Perform other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field required. Ten years of experience in job offered or related avionics engineering position required, including any experience with: avionics and/or electronic systems development and integration; the aircraft development lifecycle and certification process; developing in one or more systems within Head Up Displays, Enhanced Flight Vision Systems, Communications, Weather Radars, Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance Systems, Transponders, Inertial Reference Systems, Attitude and Heading Reference Systems, Integrated Standby Instrument Systems, and Air Data; FAA (14 CFR Part 25) and/or EASA (CS-25) certification; industry standards DO-160, DO-178, DO-258, ARP-4754, ARP-4761, and FAR Part 25; and MATLAB scripting. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field and ten years of experience, Employer will accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field and eight years of the above-listed experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field and six years of the above-listed experience. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 10 yrs in specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
