Responsibilities & Expectations:

Lead the sales team to ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability, delivery standards, timelines and customer satisfaction are being delivered and met.

  • Develop an end-to-end business plan and segment strategy that ensures attainment of company growth goals and profitability
  • Develop complete understanding of market dynamics including - size, potential, trends, competitors, purchasing criteria, etc.
  • Collaborate with corporate marketing team on "Go to Market", promotions, and messaging
  • Align with IPS and Rehlko standards for brand, communications, and collateral
  • Ensure smooth operation of Power Systems Industrial sales to include industrial, Towable, switchgear, ATS, etc.
  • Provides guidance and mentorship to Sales Managers and is ultimately responsible for their performance
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops key sales personnel to create a high performing sales organization with top line performers and a deep bench to ensure smooth successions
  • Benchmark sales procedures, organization, and processes vs. other distributors to continue driving excellence throughout organization
  • Strategic responsibility for Sales Operations process and planning
  • Engage Rehlko Sales and Support teams
  • Ensures adoption and utilization of CRM system by sales team to log, qualify, track, forecast and report on leads, prospects, and closure of sales opportunities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing on major opportunities
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance
  • Partner with internal sales application team to provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin
  • Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines
  • Will be expected to give technical advice and assistance as needed for all applications including complex switchgear
  • Ensure customer satisfaction for internal and external customers
  • Ensure necessary training for all team members
  • Communicate values, strategies, and objectives throughout the team
  • Enforce ethical business practices and promote IPS shared values
  • Travel throughout division

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related program preferred plus 5-7 years' industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and field experience
  • Previous standby/backup generator experience preferred along with managing a sales team
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook), CRMs
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel as needed
