Global Financial Systems Analyst

The Global Systems Analyst will serve as a crucial link between the Finance function and IT, focusing on optimizing financial processes and systems, particularly SAP and OneStream. This role will be responsible for understanding business needs, translating them into actionable technical requirements, and ensuring the effective utilization and integration of SAP and OneStream to support the recording and posting of transactions, consolidation, reporting, and planning activities. The Business Analyst will contribute to system enhancements, data integrity, and user adoption, driving process improvements and leveraging best practices within both platforms. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Financial Systems.

General Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to SAP and OneStream.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications for system configuration, development, and implementation within SAP and OneStream.
• Analyze and map data flows between SAP and OneStream, ensuring data integrity and accuracy for financial consolidation and reporting.
• Support the design, configuration, and end-to-end testing of a new SAP platform, ensuring alignment with business requirements, financial processes, and data integrity standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate system functionality, perform user acceptance testing (UAT), and resolve issues prior to deployment.
• Design, test, and implement system enhancements and configurations in both SAP and OneStream.
• Support the development and maintenance of API connections between SAP, OneStream, and other relevant systems.
• Participate in the administration of OneStream security, including metadata, user access, entity structures, data translations, chart of accounts, and reporting, in alignment with SAP data structures where applicable.
• Contribute to the evaluation and execution of SAP and OneStream platform upgrades, participating in impact analysis, test planning, and functional testing.
• Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of OneStream business rules and member formulas to support complex consolidation and reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with underlying SAP data.
• Support the development of logical views, data hierarchies, and reporting structures in OneStream, leveraging data sourced from SAP.
• Participate in the support of integrations and data quality processes (validations, mappings, transformations, confirmations) between SAP and OneStream.
• Support internal control governance (including SOX requirements) related to SAP and OneStream, assisting with audit requests concerning system access and change management.
• Liaise with IT teams to communicate business needs and ensure effective technical solutions for both SAP and OneStream.
• Assist in the training and support of functional users on both SAP (relevant financial modules) and OneStream.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of process documentation for both SAP and OneStream related financial processes.
• Support ad-hoc business requests for data extraction and analysis from both SAP and OneStream.
• Participate in other special projects as assigned.

Professional Experience / Qualifications:

• The successful candidate will be a professional with a strong understanding of financial processes and experience working with both SAP (ideally in a manufacturing-based industry) and OneStream. This candidate must possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. They should be able to influence and work effectively with key stakeholders and Finance Team leadership. A proactive and detail-oriented approach is crucial.
• The successful candidate's qualifications should include:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience working with financial systems, including SAP (ECC or S/4 HANA, ideally in Finance modules like FI/CO) and OneStream.
• Strong understanding of financial consolidation and reporting processes.
• Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into system specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and processes in both SAP and OneStream.
• Experience with data integration concepts and tools.
• Strong documentation and communication skills, to support interaction with Finance customers and IT partners.
• A solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Detail-oriented, highly accurate, and conscientious with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
