Summer Lab Technician

Agropur's Weyauwega, Wisconsin location is looking for a Summer Laboratory Technician during the summer months. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting production by analyzing a variety of samples using different test methods; performing microbiological and/or physical tests on raw material, in-process products and finished products.

What this the Lab Technician role is about:

• Perform chemistry and/or physical sample preparation and testing.

• Perform microbiology testing.

• Responsible for equipment operation, calibration, cleaning and minor maintenance.

• Analyze and report laboratory data, verifying interpretation with more senior Technicians or leadership.

• Accurately enter all required data into log books, spreadsheets and the reporting system as appropriate.

• Perform general lab cleanup and organization; restocking supplies as needed.

• Follow work instructions set forth by Test Procedures (TPs), Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

• Maintain a clean work place that is free of safety hazards.

• Conduct timely pre-operational evaluations of processing rooms and equipment, consistently adhering to Good Laboratory Procedures.

What you need to be a Lab Technician:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Associate's Degree or some coursework in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology preferred.

• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

• Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and field-specific software.

• Demonstrate attention to detail, quality and cleanliness in work.

Our Weyauwega, WI, plant is home to approximately 225 employees. This facility produces award-winning feta and aged cheddar cheese, as well as lactose and reduced lactose whey.
