Location: This position will be on-site full-time in Newburyport, MA. The position holder will need to be within commuting distance (within 45 min).

Benefits Administrator Summary:

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company's benefit programs. This position maintains benefit enrollments in the HRIS and with each benefit vendor, answers employee questions regarding benefits, provides payroll back-up assistance, and assists with payroll data entry. This position interfaces with management and internal / external customers and undertakes various functional projects, as required.

Benefits Administrator Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers various employee benefit programs, such as group medical, dental, vision, 401(k), FSA, HSA, life, and disability.
  • Processes enrollments, qualifying life events, medical support orders, and terminations in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Prepares monthly billing statements and conducts audits of vendor invoices.
  • Oversees carrier connection files from HRIS to various carriers.
  • Assists employees with self-service benefit enrollment system.
  • Acts as a liaison between the company and providers to resolve outstanding issues and/or claim inquiries.
  • Reviews employee requests for 401(k) distributions and reconciles weekly contributions from HRIS to 401(k) recordkeeper.
  • Maintains and distributes benefit materials for new hire orientation packets.
  • Updates and posts benefit documents to HR SharePoint site and ADP.
  • Assists the Benefits & Payroll Manager during the various open enrollment periods from event preparation to closure.
  • Assists with payroll-related data entry of W-4s and direct deposit accounts.
  • Serves as back-up for the company's weekly payroll processing.
  • Runs various weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports related to benefits and payroll.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date benefit and payroll records while maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the files.
  • Assists HR team with various research and/or special projects and performs all other duties as assigned.

Benefits Administrator Qualification Requirements:

  • Associate degree; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of HR administration, related office experience or professional certification.
  • Previous benefits administration experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable federal and state laws pertinent to benefit administration (ERISA, COBRA, ACA).
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency with MS Office and HR related databases and systems. ADP WFN preferred.
  • Bilingual / Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Positive "can do" attitude is a must.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong data entry skills and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
