Description

Our client, a global leader in custom-engineered thermal equipment, is seeking a Direct Hire Material Handler to join their manufacturing team in Western New York.

In this hands-on, high-impact role, you'll play a key part in the safe and efficient handling of large, precision-engineered components used in industrial systems worldwide. You'll work alongside a dedicated team that values safety, quality, and continuous innovation.

What You'll Do

  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes (up to 10,000 lbs / 7.5 tons)
  • Receive, inspect, crate, and prepare materials for production and shipping
  • Build custom wooden crates, pallets, and skids using carpentry tools
  • Assist with shipment documentation and logistics coordination
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery

Pay Range

$21-$32/hr - Based on experience and education

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in material handling or shipping/receiving (preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment)
  • At least 2 years of experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and using hand/power tools
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with mechanical assembly or carpentry based on technical drawings or documentation
  • At least 1 year of experience packaging, labeling, and documenting inbound and outbound shipments

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail with a safety-first mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (standing, walking, bending, crawling)
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Must be open to domestic and international travel, including extended assignments if required
  • Must be able to wear and use required PPE, including safety glasses and steel-toe footwear
