Role Summary

The Analyst, Business Operations is focused on providing direct and quantifiable financial and business data to Physical Security, Environmental, Health & Safety by collaborating with strategic partners across Finance, Procurement, Facilities, and People Teams. This role will be required to build business cases evaluating the return on investment for large projects, solve challenging and ambiguous problems, standardize and implement financial and budgeting processes, and craft comprehensive reporting tools and dashboards. The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly analytical and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a structured approach to problem-solving, and a comfort level with ambiguity.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and construct detailed bottoms up financial models for the Environmental Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) department, including both long-term and short-term financial planning and forecasting.
  • Act as a critical strategic partner for the Rivian Finance team, integrating with established processes, influencing decision making, and advocating for successful execution of EHSS initiatives.
  • Coordinate department program objectives and serve as the liaison across interdepartmental teams to facilitate project progression from conception to execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project partners to analyze, define, and implement operational improvements and support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and manage extensive dashboards, executive benchmarks, and reporting metrics to provide data-driven insights on program KPIs.
  • Create and persuasively communicate compelling business cases that demonstrate the feasibility, value, and potential benefits of proposed projects or solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Economics, Business, or Accounting
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in Business Operations, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, Finance, or related fields
  • Demonstrated proficiency in budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, financial modeling, and reporting
  • Capacity to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments characterized by incomplete data and limited direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • MBA preferred
  • Experience in Tableau, Tableau Prep, Power BI, HEX, SQL or other visualization and data cleansing tools is preferred

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Normal, IL based applicants: $98,000 - $123,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for Irvine, CA based applicants: $107,000 - $134,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for Palo Alto, CA based applicants: $117,000 - $146,000 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full Time Employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part-Time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
