Job Description Summary

#TeamAAM is looking for a Maintenance Coordinator to join our Driveline team on the 1st shift in Three Rivers, Michigan.

Coordinates proper functioning and maintenance of equipment and technologies associated with the grinding/sharpening of carbide stick blades and round tools. Assesses equipment performance; identifies improvement opportunities; implements performance improvements. Works with equipment vendors to schedule routine or preventive maintenance; coordinates across functions. Monitors warranties, works closely with engineering and suppliers to troubleshoot equipment and manufacturing processes. Identifies recurring problems and recommends corrective measures. Supervises a team of cutter grind maintenance specialists and their individual and team performance. Coordinates the indirect materials in the plant related to machine spare parts, chemicals, supplies and tooling monitoring distribution, repairs and restocking of inventories.

Job Description

  • Supervises Cutter Grind associates in arbor crib, blade grind, and round tool regrind areas.
  • Contributes to maintenance and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
  • Conducts daily review of all parts taken out of and returned to the store's crib; work with purchasing department on what to reorder, what can be repaired, and what to avoid buying altogether.
  • Researches of all new items to stock and attempt to identify similar or identical items already on hand to keep costs low.
  • Reviews aged and unused crib items to scrap or ship to asset recovery for aftermarket sale.
  • Assists skilled trades and job setters with finding spare parts.
  • Aids in supervision of general stores associates to support plant production.
  • Coordinates daily with vendors from repair shops and coating houses.
  • Leads and assists initiatives to improve tool life or performance in gear and machining departments.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Education

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • College degree, journeyman classification, or equivalent training.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of complex mechanical concepts.
  • Availability and willingness to work any shift, overtime, and weekends/holidays as requested.
