We seek a senior cloud operations leader for our Oracle National Security Regions with the skills, knowledge, and passion for cloud operations. Your experience managing large-scale cloud or IT service delivery is instrumental in delivering our highly secure, highly available services. Your enthusiasm and expertise in fostering an operational mindset across a broad spectrum of engineering organizations are critical to achieving success.

This role has a broad array of responsibilities, including managing a diverse team, working across internal and external organization boundaries, and interfacing with internal sales, product, legal, and service delivery teams to bring OCIs growth plans to fruition. But beyond all of these, your commitment to the customer experience is paramount. You must have a passion for operations and an unassailable commitment to ensuring our customers have the best experience.

What youll do

  • Operational and Technical Leadership
    • Responsible for the operations of multiple hyperscale classified cloud regions.
    • Direct 24/7 operations and support teams across the United States to ensure critical customer systems accomplish their missions.
    • Lead efforts to automate and otherwise improve operations across your classified cloud domain
    • Develop, grow, and maintain data-driven metric programs that speak to both the operational and business status of your cloud domain
  • Partner with external organizations to develop and deliver operational excellence programs across OCI
  • Coordinate across OCI service teams for the development and delivery of tooling frameworks and automation platforms to improve the efficiency of cloud operations.
  • Management
    • Hire, develop, and retain technical leaders to manage a large, distributed workforce, working with corporate and local HR to administer performance review and management programs
    • Constantly, and measurably, improve the skills and processes of the classified cloud operations teams.
  • Business Leadership
    • Partner with product management, customer support, and your operational leads to optimize the customer experience
    • Understand and coordinate the maintenance of US Government customer cloud credential and authority-to-operate (ATO) exercises to expedite the onboarding of customer workloads
    • Understand US government intelligence, law enforcement, or defense customers use cloud to accomplish their missions.
  • Lead and own the long-term strategy for your area and contribute to the strategy for the wider organization
  • Develop and execute annual roadmaps, with the ability to pivot to changing business requirements
  • Drive programs to effectively monitor and measure the productivity and efficiency of your workforce and identify opportunities to improve work/life balance as well as drive operational excellence
  • Serve as an ambassador to OCI customers, addressing performance concerns and delivering long-term remediation strategies to meet contractual SLAs

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and possess and maintain TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance
  • Bachelors degree in computer science, telecommunications, or an engineering discipline (such as electrical engineering)
  • 10+ years experience working in the field of Information Technology, including five years direct interaction with the United States Intelligence Community
  • 10+ years experience as a people leader, building and maintaining an enthusiastic and dedicated workforce
  • Experience working at, or directly with, large Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) supporting US Government cloud-based workloads
  • Must absolutely have a passion for IT Operations and driving the best possible customer experience
  • Analytical mind, with experience creating and managing to a set of metrics and key performance indicators (KPI)

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $141,200 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracles differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
