The Agency Relations Lead sits within the Resourcing and Ways of Working operations team and provides organizational leadership and oversight for the consistent and efficient deployment of the SC Johnson (SCJ) Agency Standards and Agency Relationship Management system and process across all SCJ international categories/brands and geographies. This role acts as the main contact for management on all aspects related to agency evaluation processes, annual scope development, scope tracking, and ways of working processes. This role supports the areas of agency compensation, staffing models, and fee negotiations. These responsibilities encompass all Agency partners to SCJ marketing teams including strategy, creative, media, public relations, promotions, sampling, shopper, performance, digital, influencer, and multi-cultural agencies. The role also serves as the primary point of contact to agencies and internal SCJ stakeholders to assist in resolving and/or mitigating agency performance and/or staffing & talent concerns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own the SCJ Agency Standards and Relationship Management system including all associated processes, Key Performance Indicator development, training modules, and active engagement in the planning of agency resources to meet SCJ business needs.
  • Act as a key liaison to internal SCJ stakeholders within the Marketing organization to drive the overall quality of the Agency relationship.
  • Lead the annual development of all Agency scopes across the enterprise in accordance with SCJ business planning strategies and commercial plans, in partnership with the Director, Marketing Services and SCJ Finance and Procurement teams.
  • Manage the annual Agency performance evaluation cycle, working across categories and geographies, managing inputs and participation at all organizational levels, enabling robust dialogue of shared and mutually accountable feedback between client and agency (i.e., 360 feedback).
  • Guide the agency governance process and ongoing optimizations to ensure effective agency operations and accountability
  • Facilitate agency onboarding to help both agencies and SCJ marketers navigate the process efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide innovative thinking and point-of-view recommendations to SCJ Marketers and Leadership on the efficient planning and management of Agency partnerships and effective, efficient agency models.
  • Partner with Procurement, Finance, and external consultants to drive effective negotiations and process efficiencies with agencies, including scopes and agency Master Service Agreements.
  • Leverage information and data from Procurement & Finance to drive continuous improvement and optimize agency delivery.
  • Ensure understanding and adherence to the SCJ Agency Standard across Marketing and Marketing Business Partner/Capability Teams and Agency Partners.
  • Collaborate closely with the Creative, Content & Production team and their agency partners on processes.
  • Work closely with the rest of the Resourcing and Ways of Working to ensure process alignment, efficiencies and proper change management

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience which includes extensive experience in marketing systems and tools, and a strong working knowledge of the agency landscape, business models, and disciplines.
  • 2-3 years of agency experience

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Advanced Degree
  • Experience in integrated marketing preferred
  • Past agency or CPG industry experience in an operations capacity
  • Self-motivated and willing to expand knowledge
  • Strong Digital IQ / Digital Experience
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Experience managing ambiguity and change management within a highly matrixed organization
  • Ability to expertly handle multiple projects and priorities working with various internal and external partners and organizational levels
  • Strong leadership skills and experience influencing and selling in strategic approaches/concepts with senior stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Full time
  • Up to 25% travel required to visit & support local teams and up to 2 days per week spent in agency offices.
