Payroll & Accounts Payable Specialist

We areseeking a skilledPayroll and Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an integral member of our accounting division, the AP & AR Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and profitability of our financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for all accounts payable activities payroll functions. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. This position offers a hybrid work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Payroll:
    • Process a semi-monthly payroll for all employees.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
    • Maintain payroll records and prepare reports.
    • Handle payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly.

  • Accounts Payable:
    • Process and verify invoices for payment.
    • Maintain vendor records and ensure timely payments.
    • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
    • Assist in month-end closing and financial reporting.

  • General Accounting Support:
    • Assist with general ledger entries and reconciliations.
    • Support audit and various other financial activities.
    • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.


Qualifications:


  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience can substitute for education.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in payroll and accounts payable.
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (Unanet and UKG experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Teams or similar workplace chat and videoconferencing tools.

    • Intermediate/advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

    • Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Strong time management skills.
    • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
