Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Systems Engineer (Payload - Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR)). This position will focus on leading the design, integration, testing, and operational support of ISR payload systems integrated with military ground platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background in ISR payloads, sensors, and systems engineering, along with significant experience working on military contracts and interfacing with both the U.S. Army and foreign military clients.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, integration, and testing of ISR payload systems (e.g., EO/IR, radar, signals intelligence) on military ground platforms, ensuring optimal performance in diverse operational environments.
  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of ISR payload integration, from initial concept development through integration, testing, and operational deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of hardware engineers, software engineers, and military experts to ensure ISR payloads meet mission-specific requirements and are fully integrated with ground platforms.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between the U.S. Army, foreign military clients, and internal engineering teams, ensuring clear communication of technical needs and progress.
  • Manage the development of system requirements, architecture, integration strategies, and verification plans for ISR payload systems.
  • Lead technical briefings and presentations to senior leadership, military personnel, and international stakeholders, addressing technical challenges and proposing solutions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) regulations, U.S. Army specifications, and international standards (including ITAR and DFARS).
  • Contribute to the development of technical solutions to enhance ISR system performance, ensuring the integration of cutting-edge sensor technologies and data fusion capabilities.
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of ISR system issues, providing technical assistance both remotely and on-site during operational deployments.
  • Collaborate on system-level risk assessments and mitigation strategies, particularly in relation to the integration of ISR payloads on military platforms.
  • Manage the testing and validation of ISR payload systems to ensure compliance with operational and mission requirements.
  • Provide ongoing technical support during fielding and operational assessments, ensuring systems remain effective and efficient throughout their lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer information Systems, or a related technical field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in applied systems engineering methodology, with a focus on ISR payload systems, sensors, and integration into military platforms.
  • Expertise in ISR payloads (e.g., EO/IR, radar, signals intelligence) and their integration with military ground systems.
  • In-depth understanding of military platforms, sensors, and communication systems, with experience in systems engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes, U.S. Army standards, and international export regulations (e.g., ITAR, DFARS).
  • Proven track record in leading complex projects, managing system integration, and performing system-level verification and testing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to lead a team of engineers and ensure high performance.
  • Adept computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new engineering software tools
  • Advanced knowledge in systems engineering lifecycle management tools such as Innoslate MBSE, Cameo Magic Draw, DOORS Next, or equivalent tools.
  • Ability to present complex technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Experience with operational deployment and field support of ISR systems in military environments is highly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required to support the project, including travel to military installations and field locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in multinational military environments and supporting foreign military clients is highly preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environments and address emerging technical challenges.
