- Daimler Truck North America LLC seeks a Manufacturing Production Process Engineer III based out of our office at 4747 N Channel Ave, Portland, OR 97217. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position requires up to 25% domestic/international travel per year. Job Duties: Logistics Process standardization/documentation across all production facilities in North America. Knowledge transfer between DTNA Mexico and US plants. Coordinate Logistics Control System deployment activities. Ensure process planning is in alignment with LCS requirements. Foster working relationship between Mexico and US facilities. Implementation and digitalization of critical logistics processes across DTNA production network. Lead the implementation of Logistics Control System (LCS); act as liaison with plant materials department, Corp IT and LCS Software vendor. Coordinate system and equipment design specs as well as Software development for Logistics Processes. Provide project planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting and management of LCS vendor activities prepare a detailed project schedule and review with DTNA truck manufacturing plant & project management. Support the implementation of Lean Material Handling Principles in the Plant by leading workshops and Project Teams on the Shop Floor and in the Office Area. Support the implementation of the TOS Plus Concept and align principles with Plants. LCS Software development, IT liaison and development for improvements in the Materials Department leading to process improvements and faster data management. Identify and implement benchmark technologies for Material Handling equipment and systems software applications. Coordinate Cross functional team efforts between Manufacturing Engineering, IT, Operational Units, Centralized Data Operations Analytics Team (CODA) to enable advanced Data analytics for Logistics. DTNA Logistics Standards implementation and development for the Materials Department (KPI's, Shop floor management (SFM), Plan for every Part (PFEP), Shortages, Machine and Equipment performance dashboard). Develop and manage Financial Budgets for Projects and Operating Plan. Coordinate and align projects with Reference Factory principles and Master Site Plan (MSP). Safety and Ergonomic support.
- Domestic/international travel is required, up to 25% per year.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Logistics Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in Automotive manufacturing industry.
- Experience must include experience with: Tableau; Alteryx; Power BI; Mainframe Focus; SQL; .Net; Microsoft Office; IMS Material Handling screens; and Warehouse Management/Logistics Control System.
