Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for overall support of the monthly closing process, analyzing results, and reporting information required by management to effectively operate the North American AAB business while also ensuring that corporate Group requirements are timely and accurately met. This role involves managing the inventory costing process, assisting in the preparation of forecasts and budgets, and interacting with various levels of management.

Job Duties:



  • Participate in the month end closing activities:

    • BOM completion (updating BOMs, ensuring completeness of BOM attributes, updating market attributes, researching missing attributes, updating costing)
    • Production reporting and output costing
    • FG inventory valuation
    • Inventory reserve valuation
    • Usage variances (inventory roll forwards for materials)
    • GL account reconciliations
    • Journal Entry preparation and entry into SAGE


  • Prepare Standard Management Reporting - Data gathering & Preparation:

    • Daily/Monthly Production reporting
    • Weekly/Monthly KPI reporting
    • Ad Hoc analysis to support operations
    • P&L cost analysis, checking variances from budget/forecast, bridges
    • BUR deck preparation/information and slides gathering and consolidating
    • Profitability Model (updating, maintaining, analyzing).


  • Planning & Budgeting:

    • Preparing models (updating assumptions, rolling model M to M or Y to Y)
    • Gathering and consolidating information/input from operations and business
    • Analyzing, explaining, bridging, loading both forecast and budget in the HFM.


  • Support internal and external auditing process:

    • Monthly Rhiza requests
    • Support YE Annual Audit


  • Finance projects:

    • Special requests
    • Projects as assigned by the AAB NA Controller.





Qualifications and Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years' experience in accounting/costing/financial reporting & analysis
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAGE/SAP)
  • Consolidation system experience; HFM preferred
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive, hands-on, results oriented style
  • Strong service orientation and ability to work as a team with all levels of management.
  • Thorough, highly organized, and efficient work habits
  • Ability to proactively address and solve problems
  • Balance detail orientation with "big picture" understanding of the business
  • Prior experience within the Manufacturing industry
  • Experience with SOX compliance requirements
  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel



Work Environment:

This position in an office environment with balanced remote schedule, including sitting for periods of time but also engaging with shop floor personnel and using a computer, telephone and other office electronics are critical.
