Job Title: Project Manager (PMO Construction Team) Location: Plano, TX or Hauppauge, NY Company: TEKsystems About the Role: TEKsystems is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to join our PMO construction team. This role involves handling reporting, gathering data, defining scopes and projects, and supporting various utilities, permitting aspects, and 811 dig scenarios. Prior telecom experience is not required. Key Responsibilities: * Manage and report on project progress using Tableau. * Collaborate with the PMO construction team to define project scopes and objectives. * Gather and analyze data to support project planning and execution. * Oversee projects related to utilities, permitting, and 811 dig scenarios. * Ensure timely completion of projects within defined scopes. * Develop methods and procedures to outline processes and requirements related to quality control, utility requests, and other activities. * Oversee the coordination and execution of all projects related to quality control, cable locates, and third-party damages. * Build and maintain contacts across departments including OSP, Construction, and FS relating to damages, locates, forced relocates, etc. * Develop and implement strategies to minimize third-party damage risks. * Liaise with repair crews/construction teams to ensure timely restoration of services affected by third-party damages. * Provide recommendations to improve overall locate volumes, reduce damage incidents, and enhance quality standards. * Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management. Top Skills: * Ability to develop strategies to minimize third-party risks. * Maintain contacts across departments on all damages, locates, and forced relocates requests. * Ability to provide project status updates and recommendations on reducing locate requests, reducing damage incidents, and improving quality processes. Secondary Skills - Nice to Haves: * Experience with Telecom Construction standards and practices. * Familiarity with underground utility locating, including knowledge of locating technologies, regulatory requirements, and best practices. * Proficiency in project coordination methodologies and tools. * Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or mapping technologies used in cable locating. Additional Skills & Qualifications: * Strong understanding of project lifecycle, timelines, budgets, and resources. * PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification. * Excellent verbal and written communication for coordinating between stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams. * At least 5-7 years of experience in roles related to field operations, quality control, or damage prevention. * Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. * Experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and PM database management tools (e.g., WorkFront, Sitetracker). Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
