Position Summary

Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the Patient Scheduling Coordinator, supports the Breast Center, radiologists ,referring physicians and patients by providing services such as: scheduling, database management, patient/department support, and unit specific tasks and statistics.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

Healthcare secretarial and patient care experience preferred. Strong computer skills required.

Skills

Demonstrated typing skills and computer literacy. Typing/keyboarding 25-30 wpm at a minimum. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Good customer service skills (to include telephone etiquette) to effectively communicate and interact with physicians, office staff, and personnel from other departments during day to day and stressful situations. Ability to work independently, cooperatively, and with minimal supervision with members of the health care team. Ability to use effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities and respond quickly to changing and conflicting needs. Attentive to details and the ability to perform work accurately, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Effective critical thinking skills, i.e., analytical, problem-solving, decision making, prioritizing, time management, etc. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
