Unlock the Power of Data at Pacific Life. We're seeking a talented Senior Data Architect to join our Pacific Life Team in Newport Beach, CA; Omaha NE; or Toronto, Canada. Looking for self-starters to help shape the future of data architecture and drive data-driven success.

  • This role is on-site. You'll work at our state-of-the-art Newport Beach headquarters / modern Omaha office or Toronto, Canada.

As a Data Architect, you will play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by accelerating our data driven initiatives. You will fill a new role that sits within the Enterprise Customer & Third-Party data vertical. This role brings value by enabling our Customer Experience (CX), Operational Efficiency, Marketing, Sales & Distribution use-cases. Your colleagues will include scrum masters, data engineers, fellow Data, AI, Governance, and QA professionals. Join our highly collaborative, innovative team.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Architect and design data engineering solutions that support business needs and align with enterprise data strategy.
  • Develop, own and manage the data architecture, data models, and data pipeline strategy for Customer and Third-Party data vertical
  • Ensure architecture and design are robust, scalable, performant, and meet business needs for data driven decision making
  • Understand data needs, regulatory requirements, and business goals, and support translating these into effective data solutions.
  • Ensure new features and subject areas are modeled to integrate with existing structures and provide a consistent view.
  • Develop and maintain current state and future roadmap of the data architecture, data flows and data models appropriate for various audiences
  • Provide direction on adoption and maturation of Cloud technologies (AWS, Snowflake etc.) and industry best practices in the field of data warehouse architecture and modeling.
  • Work with governance teams to establish policies and procedures for data usage, quality, and security, particularly concerning regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Act as an influential leader to drive business outcomes.
  • Strategic thinker with strong stakeholder management skills

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field, with a Master's degree in Computer science or data science preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise data domains such as Customer, Product, Supplier, Vendor, Location, or similar key entities
  • 10+ years of experience in delivering end-to-end cloud based modern data engineering solutions, using Snowflake or similar platforms
  • Strong data modeling, multi-dimensional data warehousing, and ETL/ELT experience
  • 10+ years experience using advanced SQL and knowledge of database objects such as stored procedures, materialized views
  • Successfully implemented data architecture patterns using best practices
  • Understanding of Master data management (MDM) discipline and fundamentals
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Effective communication & facilitation; both verbal and written
  • Team-Oriented: Collaborating effectively with team and stakeholders
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with ability to breakdown complex data solutions

  • Experience delivering enterprise-wide Master data management (MDM) solutions
  • Experience with Customer and/or 3rd Party data management solution architecture
  • Experience in cloud and hybrid data architectures
  • Experience working with Azure Dev Ops (ADO) CI/CD and AWS technologies
  • Proficiency with automation, orchestration and scripting in data delivery environment
  • Understanding of data catalogs, glossary, data quality, and effective data governance
  • Experience working in complex data systems
  • Financial services/Insurance domain knowledge

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$148,230.00 - $181,170.00
