Position and Responsibilities Overview

The Manager of Employee Benefits manages a full array of benefit programs and services. Benefit programs include healthcare design, retirement plan strategy, cost management and compliance. With guidance from their manager, this individual will support RK's benefits strategy, leveraging our brokers, assessing best practices, interpreting key legislative activity, reviewing, assessing plan costs, updating and communicating plan design, benchmarking benefit plan value versus a group of comparison companies as well as reviewing and communicating the value/cost of employee benefit and wellness programs. Responsible for ensuring that plan designs are compliant with all relevant benefits laws and regulations, and that compliance monitoring and reporting processes are effective and efficient. This position ensures plans are being administered and interpreted in accordance with the strategic intent and compliance with applicable local and national laws.

  • Manages all benefit programs and services
  • Conduct employee benefit information seminars
  • Manages and optimize vender and carrier relationships
  • Manager open enrollment process and procedures
  • Create benefits statements to ensure employee confirmation of enrollment accuracy and to ensure employees are aware of the value of their benefits
  • HR and benefits policy development
  • Research governmental regulations for accurate policy enforcement
  • Assist with automating processes
  • Compiling statistics and reports as requested
  • Policy development and documentation as well as creation of the benefits guide
  • Create employee communication pieces for consistent delivery of benefits information
  • Maintain filing system.
  • EPICOR training and implementation
  • Will be required to maintain strict confidentiality with all assignments
  • Employee services and counseling resources
  • Assist in establishing departmental measurements that support the company's goals

Qualifications

Indirect supervision

Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within his/her function .

Applies diversified knowledge of applicable principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments

Makes decisions independently regarding complexities and methods

Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters

Liaison to groups within and outside of his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to his/her function

College/University graduate with 7 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally expected for specified technical roles
