Practice Supervisor Overseeing Internal Medicine Residency Program

Job Description

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of a single practice location with 1 or 2 providers .
  • Supervises all staff and oversees all office and patient care functions while ensuring that the
  • Einstein Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior are practiced at all times.
  • Works the front desk and/or back office of the practice as needed.
  • May perform duties of a Medical Assistant on a regular basis.
  • Assists Practice/Operations Manager with the recruitment and on-boarding of staff as needed.
  • Rounds regularly on staff; identifies and resolves individual and practice level issues .
  • Collaborates with Practice/Operations Manager in establishing patient care schedules that maximize patient access to meet and exceed practice visit targets.
  • Assists Practice/Operations Manager with identifying and implementing plans related to practice needs: patient access, staffing, practice services, and equipment.
  • Facilitates monthly physician/management meetings: establishes agenda, prepares data, and participates in decision making.
  • Facilitates monthly management/staff meetings ensuring staff are aligned with practice performance goals.
  • Assists the Practice/Operations Manager with managing the revenue cycle to include patient demographics, insurance verification, copay collection, and charge completion by clinical staff.
  • Regularly rounds on patients addressing concerns in the moment when possible.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting and de-escalating events that occur in the practice.
  • Collaborates with Practice/Operations Manager to monitor patient satisfaction reports and to share data with providers and staff to discuss strategies on improving the patient experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership skills to foster team building, accountability and communication.
  • Models Einstein's Standards of Behavior, participating in continued education, and supporting the Einstein GPS initiative.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma required. Associates degree preferred.

Two years of relevant supervisory experience including experience providing exceptional customer service preferred.

Knowledge and experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills required. Working knowledge of medical coding and insurance terminology and requirements of healthcare regulatory agencies, i.e.
HIPPA preferred. Proven ability to analyze problems and follow through with creative solutions
In addition, if at a practice that requires the Practice Supervisor to perform Medical Assistant functions, must be a graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants and possess a minimum of two years of Medical Assistant experience in a similar setting.

CPR certification required for Site Supervisors performing Medical Assistant functions.
