GENERAL SUMMARY

The Product Data Specialist I has in-depth knowledge of product configurations and BOM construction of DeZURIK/APCO/Willamette products. This position assists with the management and continuity of product data between marketing and engineering systems. Product databases and controlled documents must be maintained in coordination with company initiatives. The Product Data Specialist I serves as a critical team member to support development/release of new products and changes to existing products.

This position is currently eligible for DeZURIK's hybrid work schedule.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

  • Maintain configurable product ordering code systems, reference documents, price sheets, and configuration/pricing databases.
  • Responsible for design and formulation of custom logical relationships within configuration databases.
  • Interpret requirements of engineering, marketing, sales, and operations to seek collaborative solutions. Establish positive relationships with all areas of the business.
  • Maintain engineering data within an ERP system while being responsible for adherence to Dezurik Engineering and Quality standards.
  • Utilize ad hoc querying programs to analyze ERP system data in support of product changes.
  • Maintain automated BOM generation program with new and changing requirements. Populate related data files. Support engineering team through product standardization projects.
  • Support daily operations as needed.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma plus 2 years of continued education or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of related work experience.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Intermediate Excel proficiency, including:

    • Ability to interpret complex nested formulas
    • VBA experience a plus


  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology.
  • Demonstrated high level of organization, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing.
  • Experience with document management.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable working within cross-functional team.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical demands are typical of an office position including extended periods of sitting, and extensive use of a personal computer and telephone.
  • Factory floor support is imperative.
  • The physical requirements of the job are related to some testing in the engineering lab, field service activities that can be part of the job assignments, or handling component parts in the plant during a quality inspection.
  • Must be able to see and move throughout the plant in order to resolve work problems and facilitate processes.
  • Occasional handling of material and components.
  • May have contact with caustic substances in some areas of the plant.
  • Must be able to tolerate long hours in a shop environment and support after-hours business needs as they arise.
  • Travel for the company including both domestic and international travel may be required for project/systems support.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds independently.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal manufacturing and office environment. When working occasionally in some shop areas, personal protection equipment (PPE) will be recommended and/or required (safety shoes, safety glasses w/side shields, hearing protection, face shield, gloves, apron and boots). Must have the ability to support extended business hours to meet customer business needs.
