An opening currently exists for a FIELD INSPECTOR - THIRD CLASS - Willow Grove

Qualifications:

  • Applicants for this position must have the following qualifications:
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be familiar with Company territory.
  • Must be available for overtime.
  • Must have math skills pertaining to Construction Department functions.
  • Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and Company construction standards
  • Must have drafting skills.
  • Must be able to transfer field notes to finished plan and complete material inventory and contractor installations to properly close job.
  • Be physically capable of performing all department functions such as making large and small taps, loading and unloading materials, operate valves, etc. Must be capable of lifting 100 pounds.
  • Knowledge of pipe and box (curb & valve) locators and ability to operate both.
  • Must have ability to process all department forms such as tap slips, material orders, time sheets, etc.
  • Must be capable of coordinating and planning daily work duties with contract construction crews to ensure efficient work schedules, safety and quality control.
  • Capable of professional communication with customers, vendors and municipal representatives.
  • Communicate project status and job progression to the department supervisors on a daily basis or as needed.
  • Must be able to use a computer and all associated Aqua programs including AIMS, E-Mail, GIS, tablet, etc.
  • Perform all department tasks or functions as directed by your supervisor.

The rate of pay is $38.39/hr.##

All employees hired or entering the bargaining unit on or after December 15, 2022, will receive four dollars ($4.00) per hour less than the classification wage rate. The wage reduction will be returned in one dollar ($1.00) increases once a year over a four (4) year period. Employee will receive annual contract increases.

A written and field exam may be given.
