Job Description

Join our team as the friendly face (and voice!) of patient access at Truman Medical Center. As a Clinic Patient Access & Scheduling Representative, you'll handle everything from check-in and scheduling to insurance verification and patient flow. You'll also lead by example-training new staff, improving processes, and helping keep our clinic running smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome and check in patients, gather and verify demographic and insurance info

  • Schedule and maximize clinic appointments (target: 90%+ schedule utilization)

  • Verify insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial) and explain coverage to patients

  • Collect co-pays and reconcile payments accurately

  • Support billing and documentation processes

  • Provide top-notch service via phone and in person

  • Mentor new team members and assist with training and special projects

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 1 year of experience in patient access, scheduling, or a similar role

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Comfortable mentoring and training new staff

  • Proficient with computers and scheduling systems

Bonus Points

  • Medical terminology knowledge

  • College coursework or training experience
