Acara Solutions is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support our client in a brand-new facility in Alabama, NY.

This is a unique hybrid role offering the flexibility of remote work, combined with on-site involvement during the construction and ramp-up phases of our new facility.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality materials and components. You'll work closely with suppliers to drive performance, implement corrective actions, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This is more than a quality role-it's a chance to shape supplier strategy from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality compliance of outsourced parts and components
  • Manage and maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions through the SCAR process
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance metrics, including DPPM
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and assessments
  • Partner with sourcing and procurement to support supplier scorecards and qualification
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with key suppliers
  • Ensure alignment with APQP, PPAP, and ISO 9001 standards
  • Support new supplier selection and risk analysis
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of supplier quality experience in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, ISO 9001, and supplier auditing
  • Technical and analytical skills for root cause analysis and supplier coaching
  • Experience in quality tools: 8D, SPC, QRQC, etc.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Supplier management and development experience
  • Familiarity with supplier risk analysis and change management
  • Understanding of supplier performance metrics and scorecarding
