Click for a complete list of Employee Benefits. Position Summary Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a Research Assistant Professor to join the Shimamura Lab. The Research Assistant Professor will contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge research in lung cancer biology, therapeutics, and biomarker discovery. This position is expected to establish independent program in 2~3 years; it offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. A successful Research Assistant Professor candidate is highly motivated and experienced to perform excellent scientific research in a lung cancer research laboratory. Duties & Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in lung cancer research, as evidenced by a strong publication record. Experience with advanced molecular and cellular biology techniques. Proven ability to secure independent funding or significant contributions to grant-funded projects. Strong mentoring, leadership, and communication skills.
