The construction of fairlife's manufacturing facility in Webster, NY is underway. This state-of-the-art, 750k sq ft, greenfield plant is expected to be operational in late 2025 and will lay the foundation for fairlife's next phase of growth as the leading dairy nutrition provider. While coupling the industry's latest technologies and fairlife's operational excellence to build this world-class facility, fairlife plans to hire 250 new employees and bring in approximately 5 million lbs. of milk a day, with room to grow over the coming years.

job purpose:

The material planner's role is to manage all material, ingredient and packaging inventories and ensure that material resources are available according to site production schedules. The material planner's responsibilities will include purchasing and ensuring on-time delivery of materials, managing optimal inventory levels and inventory health, coordinating with internal departments, and managing external vendor and other stakeholder relations. A successful Material Planner should be able to ensure the appropriate supply of materials required to maintain steady production and finished product delivery.

responsibilities:



  • Ensuring the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for FG production.
  • Ability to react and solve inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
  • Analyze supply / demand changes and react accordingly
  • Continuous monitoring and management of material and packaging stocks to ensure a balanced, healthy inventory level, appropriate safety stock and efficient storage utilization.
  • Ownership of site MRP, and creation/development of tools
  • Proactive management and cross functional communication of material concerns that may impact production schedule
  • Daily collaboration with warehouse, 3PL, planning and other internal teams to ensure issues are addressed and production is not affected
  • Work with internal teams to ensure that material purchases are timely and cost-efficient
  • Collaborate with internal teams to execute material run out plans when changes are made to finished good bill of materials or artwork
  • Monitor and ensure timely execution of new product introduction and product revisions
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships to create effective two-way communication to mitigate unknown supply risks
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly Reporting on Materials managed



skills/qualifications required:



  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's Degree and / or relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail, mathematical and analytical skills required
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (excel, PowerBI)
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and requests and respond quickly with a sound solution
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Dynamics 365 experience preferred but not required


working conditions and physical requirements:



  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, however regular audits of the plant are expected
  • No or very limited physical effort required
  • Limited exposure to physical risk
  • Some travel to various sites in other states may be required


food safety requirements:



  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.


  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.

base pay range: $75-85k
