Overview TRC creates and implements sophisticated and innovative solutions to the challenges facing America's energy markets and infrastructure. A national energy and environmental services organization, TRC provides its services to America's major industries, utilities, banks, insurance companies and federal, state and local government agencies. Through the Energy Trust of Oregon's Existing Buildings Program, we deliver technical assistance and cash incentives to customers in commercial facilities and buildings to help make electric and natural gas energy efficiency upgrades possible. TRC is launching the Young Adult Energy Internship to support the development of our increasingly diverse workforce within energy efficiency across Oregon and SW Washington. Through this up to 1-year internship starting June 12, 2025, interns will develop skills necessary to enter the energy workforce as an entry-level energy auditor through onboarding and work readiness, certifications, field work and future planning. Energy Auditors play a vital role in conserving energy and reducing environmental impact. They analyze energy flow data, inspect buildings, and develop strategies to improve energy efficiency and lower carbon footprints. Through this internship, interns will be equipped to make a meaningful impact in the field of energy efficiency. The position may require travel across Oregon and SW Washington to meet with customers, contractors, community organizations and to attend trade shows and conferences. Work-related travel will be provided or reimbursed. TRC is committed to promoting diversity and equity within the clean energy sector. Responsibilities By the end of the internship, interns will have: * Developed a successful 1-on-1 mentoring relationship with an expert in the energy industry * Become certified to perform applicable skills in the industry * Assisted on energy efficiency projects serving their community * Received support in applying and obtaining post internship professional opportunities Qualifications Qualifications Requirements * Age 18-24 * Living in the Portland Oregon metro area. * High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience * Interest in learning about energy efficiency Preferred Qualifications * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Interest in saving energy, sustainable building practices and energy-efficient technologies * Bilingual in English and another language Previous experience with energy efficiency programs, building performance principles and best practices and/or construction and facility management is not required. TRC offers jurisdiction specific benefit packages for International and Puerto Rico employees. Salary and Benefits The position is a full-time, 1-year position, with an hourly rate of $25/hr. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
