Job Description

Join our amazing printing team in Durham, NC! Do you enjoy the flexibiity of a rotating work schedule? Our team works 12-hr rotating shifts.

This position's work hours are Monday - Friday 8 hour per day with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.

Job Description

  • Warehouse General: Creates and updates Load Flags, completes load confirmation and schedule appointments. Conveys materials and items from dock areas, roll prep or production areas to storage or to other designated areas. Stages loads for shipping. Housekeeping using 5s principles. May create and update Load Flags, complete load confirmations and schedule appointments. 30%

  • Warehouse Wrapping: Picks up skids from Pressroom and prepares them to be wrapped. Removes waste from Pressroom and places in proper balers. Performs preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment. Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Assists in Carton Pack process. Examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures. 30%

  • Warehouse Rolls: Preps rolls for presses. Unloads paper from rail cars. Scans rolls when moved from anywhere in the warehouse. Drives vehicles to transport items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment and loads trucks. 30%

  • Communication/Record Keeping: Reads production schedule, paper allocation and bills of laden to determine items to be moved, gathered and distributed. Scheduling vendor visits and completing the requisitions and work orders associated with the warehouse. Communicates equipment issues through work order system. Properly documents weights and locations of skids. Reviews manifests, roll usage reports and weight and/or count for items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards. Informs the incoming shift of pertinent information and communicates to other departments as necessary. Uses the computer to enter records, bills of laden, work orders and email. May read production schedules, paper allocation and bills of laden to determine items to be moved, gathered and distributed. May schedule vendor visits and complete the requisitions and work orders associated with the warehouse. Other duties as assigned. 10%


Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of related experience (Preferred)

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES

  • Required CertIfications/Licensures: (Forklift Driver Certified)

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Good mechanical ability.

  • Ability to work on a team with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced repetitive position.

  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift with overtime requirements.

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED

  • Forklift, clamp truck, pallet jack and other powered industrial trucks as assigned.

  • Microsoft Office-primarily Outlook and Excel and proprietary manufacturing software (i.e., Oracle, VAX) as assigned.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

Able to read and comprehend simple instructions and document data. Maintain open communications with team members, leadership, and other departments. May interact with trucking companies and other vendors.

DECISION MAKING

Ability to follow and carry out written or oral instructions to properly complete assigned tasks. Ability to determine the need for escalating issues to leadership.

Thepay range for this role at the noted location is $18.90-21.60 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
